We're Hatching Something

We are in the midst of refitting for the coming season with Endeavour in Leigh Marina ready for re-painting and some repairs. Rot has set in again on the bulkhead between the engine room and the hold.

This work gives us the opportunity to improve access to the engine by incorporating a hatch from the hold which allows easier access to engine ancillaries such as drive belts and the water pump.

One reason why this is necessary is because our current crew are rather taller and wider than the cocklers of 1924 and consequently we don't fit the gap any more.

Nobody fancied going on diets so our builder, Brian Kennell is installing the hatch! After that work is done we shall anti-foul and paint the boat to get her back in the water in April.
