Since the last newsletter community talks have been give by Peter Dolby and Mike King to the Hadleigh Castle Townswomen’s Guild, Belfairs Resident’s Association, Earls Hall Baptist Church - ‘Time Together Group’, U3A Hullbridge and Rayleigh Methodist Ladies Club.
Finally, Peter was invited to the 4th/6th Leigh-on-Sea Sea Scouts Group where our educational power point presentation was enthusiastically received by their cubs. Many questions were asked the majority of which were about the 200 dogs that were rescued along with 338,000 allied troops! A number of cubs talked about their family members who had been in the war and spoke of the medals that had been earned.
One of the cub’s grandfathers came along to listen and spoke to Peter afterwards. John Bridge had crewed on Endeavour back in the early 1960s with Joe Deal.
